SUBJECT: HIPAA and Research Online Training Module

DATE: June 19, 2003

All individuals who are involved in the conduct and/or oversight of any research activities at Christiana Care Health System must comply with Federal, Local and Institutional educational requirements including the completion of HIPAA training specific to Research. The required information is now available in an online version.

To complete the HIPAA and Research Education Module while using a CCHS terminal:

· Go to the CCHS I-NET

· Find Department Listings under the Listings/Pagings tab

· Choose IRB

· Click on the HIPAA and Research Training Link then follow the instructions

· Navigate through the lesson presentation by RIGHT clicking the mouse to choose "NEXT" "PREVIOUS" or "END SHOW"

· Once the lesson is completed, click "END SHOW" to return to this menu.

· Obtain credit for lesson by completing the webform at FORM and clicking the "SUBMIT" box.

To complete the HIPAA and Research Education Module when dialing in from an external ISP (Internet Service Provider- ie: AOL, MSN, Yahoo...):

· Access the lesson by clicking the following link: http://irbweb.christianacare.org/irbweb

· Click on the HIPAA and Research Training Link then follow the instructions

· Navigate through the lesson presentation by RIGHT clicking the mouse to choose "NEXT" "PREVIOUS" or "END SHOW"

· Once the lesson is completed, click "END SHOW" to return to this menu.

· Obtain credit for lesson by completing the webform at FORM and clicking the "SUBMIT" box.

Maintain a copy of the webform for your records.
