Services for Employers

The University of Delaware has grown from its founding as a small private academy in 1743 to a major university. As one of the oldest land grant institutions, as well as a sea-grant, space-grant and urban-grant institution, Delaware offers an impressive collection of educational resources for the 16,000 undergraduate and 3,000 graduate students we serve.

The Career Services Center offers a wide variety of means for identifying and contacting highly capable graduates. Campus Interview Program

Each year from October through early May, approximately 300 organizations come to the University of Delaware to conduct interviews with graduating students at our facility. The Campus Interview Program uses a pre-screening process to allow employers to select only those candidates who meet their hiring criteria. Interview dates must be set a minimum of 4 weeks in advance.

Resume Referral System

The Career Services Center maintains a resume data bank of upcoming graduates and alumni seeking full-time positions which can be searched by demographic criteria such as major field of study, degree level, etc., and/or key words specified by the potential employer. The resulting matches can be emailed to the employer, faxed, or mailed to employers. We try to respond to requests the same day we receive them.

This service may incur a charge to the employer based on the number of matches: 1 to 50 resumes are free, over 50 resumes are forwarded for $10.

Your organization's full-time job leads can be posted on our website. Students and alumni peruse these job openings daily.

Part-time and Summer Job Listings

The Career Services Center posts all part-time and summer job listings received on our website where they are available for viewing by University students and alumni. All part-time jobs received each week are listed on the Web for convenient access by our students. Summer job listings are posted on the World Wide Web beginning November 1 each year for the upcoming summer season.

Job Fairs

The Career Services Center offers a variety of job fairs throughout the academic year. These fairs may be open to all majors or targeted to a specific group of students.   • The Annual Job Jamboree, held in the early fall of each year, is open to all graduating students and alumni, kicking off the Campus Interview Program as an informational job fair. On October 2, 2008 we will be celebrating the 40th Annual Job Jamboree.   • Scheduled annually in September, the Law School Fair hosts admissions representatives from more than 25 law schools including Rutgers, Temple, Villanova, Widener, University of Pennsylvania, Penn State/Dickenson, George Washington, University of Maryland, University of Baltimore and many more.   • The Volunteer Fair is held in September of the Fall Semester each year (September 10, 2008 for the 2008-09 academic year). This program brings together representatives from more than 45 non-profit organizations from New Castle County who are looking for student volunteers to help them with their projects and activities. Child Inc., Habitat for Humanity, Food Bank, League of Women Voters, Newark Arts Alliance, Catholic Charities, Girls and Boys Clubs, Ywca, Ronald McDonald House, March of Dimes, and other organizations have participated.   • The Engineering & Information Management Job Fair scheduled for February 18, 2009, is open to all engineering and technology oriented students at the University of Delaware to meet with organizations regarding full-time and summer job opportunities. Approximately 120 organizations attend each year.   • A Fashion & Apparel Career Day may be held on February 24, 2009.
