East Asian Studies

Majoring in East Asian Studies prepares student as East Asian Studies "Specialists." Students have training in the history, political institutions, culture and the language of a particular East Asian country. Students acquire a unique cultural perspective on the country of interest, and several disciplines are combined to enhance that understanding. The knowledge and linguistic skills acquired prepare the student for further studies at the graduate level, or a career in either the public or private sector, such as foreign service or international commerce, banking, and other organizations, when combined with business skills.
