Major Resource Kit

Animal Science

The global employment outlook is increasingly good for animal science majors. A degree in this area prepares students for entry-level technical, research, sales, and marketing positions in chemical, health and agriculturally related industries. Government agencies, zoos, aquariums, and veterinary practices also offer employment opportunities for students with the right background. Approximately 35% of Animal Science graduates pursue advanced degrees in veterinary medicine, human medicine, and other sciences. Whatever your goal, we encourage you to participate in job-search workshops and career days, develop your communication skills, do internships and learn to network with employers.

For more information on any of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources majors, contact the Office of Academic Programs at 831-2508 or stop by 104 Townsend Hall.
