Eric Breindel College and University Journalism Award

The Eric Breindel Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for the “ Eric Breindel College and University Journalism Award,” the nationwide undergraduate competition whose winning prize is unmatched by any institution in the country, are now being accepted. The winner will secure a cash prize of $10,000, as well as a paid internship of his or her choice at either Fox News Channel or the New York Post. In addition, residential housing in New York City will be provided for the winner for the duration of the internship position, if necessary. This is the third year that the Foundation has presented this prestigious journalism award specifically created for undergraduates.

Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, in association with Ernst & Young LLP, is offering three (3) scholarships in honor of Fred Rogers, the creator and long-time host of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. The scholarships are intended to support and encourage aspiring upper division or graduate students to pursue careers in children’s media and further the values and principles of Fred Rogers’ work. Al Muammar Scholarhips for Journalism

The Arab American Institute Foundation awards annually up to four scholarship grants, valued at $5,000 each, to eligible Arab American college students who are majoring in journalism, as well as college seniors who have been accepted to a graduate journalism school. Awardees are selected by a panel of judges drawn from the print and broadcast media in the United States. Fulbright-mtvU Fellowship

Fulbright-mtvU Fellowships, administered by the Institute of International Education, are for U.S. students to conduct research abroad for one academic year on study projects of their own design around an aspect of international musical culture. Up to 4 Fellowships will be awarded to outstanding U.S. students nationwide. In addition to proposing unique projects on "the power of music" as a global force for mutual understanding, applicants must submit an outreach plan describing how they intend to share their activities with their peers during their Fulbright year. Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia:

The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia is offering $1,000 scholarships (eight of them) to outstanding undergraduate students of radio, television, film, or related media fields.  Click here to go to scholarship website

Broadcast Education Association National Scholarship:

BEA is the professional development association for professors, industry professionals and students involved in teaching and research related to radio, television and other electronic media. BEA administers a variety of scholarships annually, to honor broadcasters and the broadcast industry. The BEA Two Year Scholarship is for study at schools offering only freshman and sophomore instruction or for study at 4-year institutions by graduates of BEA 2-year programs. Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association

The Association serves as an official liaison between AP member stations and the Mid-Atlantic Bureau and its staff in Delaware, Maryland and Washington, DC. The Association's board, comprised of radio and television professionals from the region, meets quarterly to discuss issues of signficance to the AP and its members. Alpha Omega Scholarship In Memory Of Peter Agris

Peter Agris Memorial Scholarship for Greek-Americans pursuing careers in journalism and communications.

The Alpha Omega Council, comprised of leading businesspersons of Hellenic ancestry, honors its late founder by presenting the Peter Agris Memorial Scholarships annually to several young Greek-Americans pursuing studies in the fields of journalism or communications. The $ 5,000 non-renewable scholarships are presented at The Alpha Omega Council’s Annual Lifetime Achievement Award Dinner typically held in the month of May of each year. At this event, a prominent Greek-American is honored for his or her contributions to Orthodoxy and Hellenism. Eligible candidates should electronically complete an application and follow the instructions to submit it on-line no later than March 1st. Radio Televsion Digital News Foundation (RTDNF)Scholarships

RTDNF offers graduate and undergraduate scholarships to enrolled students (freshmen excluded) who are pursuing careers in radio, television and digital news. Winners also receive an expenses-paid trip to the RTDNA National Conference. The Radio Television Digital News Foundation (RTDNF) offers professional development opportunities, an open forum for the discussion of ethics, assistance with the development of leadership skills, support of First Amendment issues and the exchange of ideas and perspectives from electronic journalists worldwide. RTDNF sponsors invaluable programs like the RIAS Journalist Exchange in Germany, Sunshine Week, News and Terrorism workshops, scholarships and fellowships for students and new professionals, the High School Journalism program and the First Amendment Dinner. Delaware Commmunity Foundation

Delaware students are invited to apply for scholarships available through the Delaware Community Foundation. Last year, the DCF awarded more than 300 scholarships totaling more than $467,000. A complete list of the scholarships is available in the Delaware Community Foundation Scholarship Compendium, Scholarships to be Awarded for the 2012-2013 School Year at www.delcf.org. The Compendium includes criteria and information about each award, as well as applications. The submission deadline for the majority of scholarships is April 1.With a single application, students can apply for a variety of scholarships available through the DCF. Applicants should review the criteria for all of the available awards and simply check the boxes next to the scholarships for which they wish to be considered. There is no cap on the number of scholarships or amount students may receive. In addition to tuition assistance, funding from many of the scholarships may be applied to the costs of textbooks and fees.
