Fiji

If you were thinking Fiji's nickname is Paradise, you're probably correct because that's what we experienced.  Here's a little background on the country:  It became an independent country in 1970 (after being a British Colony), it has a tropic marine climate, is comprised of 332 islands, only 110 of the islands are inhabited, English is the official language however both Fijian and Hindustani are also dominant and the Government is a Republic.

The following are a few shots around the resort that we stayed at.  Every part of it was beautiful.

Abaca Trek:
Our Professors were able to organize ahead of time a hike through the tropics of fiji which was too great to be described with words.  Most everyone in the group agreed that this was the best part of the trip.

The following views speak for themselves:

The waterfall at the top of our hike was replenishing to say the least.

The village that we were welcomed into for lunch was the best way to get a feel for their culture.  We all felt apart of their home instantly, and the food was unbelievable!

Nadi:
Nadi is the second largest city, it is home to a 10,000 people, and is fairly tourist friendly due to the closeness of the international airport.
