Internship Information for Organizations with Internship Opportunties
University of Delaware’s Communication Department does not place students in particular internships. However, we do make information available to students about current openings. We also encourage students to apply to places that have approached our department specifically for interns, or places where our past interns have had good experiences.
There are two ways we can be a resource for finding a student intern.
(1) We maintain a list of current internship openings, with specific information about a particular position. If you would like to develop a document that can be included in the list, you can e-mail it to me as an attachment or in the body of an e-mail at bartoo@udel.edu. You should update these postings each time you are looking for a new intern.
Some of the things you should include: how many hours per week you want someone to work, what their duties will be, whether they need to earn academic credit to do the internship, whether there will be pay of any sort (most internships don't offer pay), how to apply, deadlines for application (if any), and contact information.
(2) We've also developed a database of possible internship sites that students can access via our department web site. You do not need to update your information for the database unless your contact information changes.
If you'd like to be included in our database, please let us know your mailing address, the phone number you'd like students to use to contact your organization, who they should contact (you or someone else in your organization), the contact person's e-mail if they are open to being reached that way, and a web site that students can visit for more information about the organization (if applicable). You can send this information to bartoo@udel.edu.
