Department Welcomes Professor Carolyn White Bartoo to Faculty

The Department of Communication is pleased to announce that Carolyn White Bartoo will be joining our faculty in September 2009. Professor Bartoo brings over 20 years of experience in teaching and practicing strategic communication to our Department and will be teaching courses in our Public Relations sequence.

Professor Bartoo earned received a B.A. in Communication from the University of Delaware in 1988 and an M.S. from Antioch University in 1996. Her graduate work focused on environmental communication and environmental justice. During her graduate studies, she was awarded a Summer Fellowship at Tufts University in Environmental Justice Additionally, she was awarded a Ted Scripps Fellowship in Environmental Journalism at the University of Michigan.

Professor Bartoo is a former faculty member of the Widner University Department of Communication. She has owned her own public relations consulting firm specializing in media relations and environmental communication. In addition, Professor Bartoo has also worked as Public Relations Manager for the Delaware Tourism Office and Marketing Director for Delaware State Parks.
