Fall 2009 Lecture Series: Assessing Obama's First Year

Department of Communication faculty members Ralph Begleiter, Lindsay Hoffman, and Danna Young will take part in the University of Delaware Fall lecture series titled "Assessing Obama's First Year." The lecture series will feature a variety of faculty and national experts, including Ed Gillespie, former chairperson of the Republican national Committee and adviser to George Bush and .David Plouffe, who attended UD and helped lead President Barak Obama's presidential campaigh.

Sept. 16: Lindsay Hoffman, assistant professor of communication, “Plugged into the Electorate.”

Oct. 21: David Plouffe, "Lessons from a Presidential Campaign."

Nov. 4: Muqtedar Khan, associate professor of political science and international relations, “Obama and the Muslim World.”

Nov. 11 (please note that this date is tentative): Ed Gillespie, “The Future of the Republican Party.”

Nov. 18: Speaker to be announced, “The Politics of Health Care Reform.”

Dec. 2: Danna Young, assistant professor of communication, “The Reinvention of Late Night? Political Humor in the Age of Obama.”
