        FUNDAMENTALS OF             

          COMMUNICATION

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Comm 255 is an introduction to the study of communication for non-COMM majors. This introduction includes (1) an analysis of the factors affecting communication with self, in a one-to-one encounter, in small groups, public performances, mass media, organizations, and among members of differing cultural backgrounds; (2) participation in in-class and out-of-class activities to enable the student to better understand the interrelationship of the factors affecting communication in different situations and to provide the student with the opportunity to improve his/her communication skills.
