Welcome to the College School!

At The College School, children flourish in a kind and supportive environment. By providing small class sizes and an individualized, highly structured program of instruction, teachers help to narrow the gap between a student's potential and achievement. Students are afforded opportunities to acquire academic and social skills similar to those acquired by students in traditional schools. Our goal is to return each student to a mainstream academic environment in an average of two to three years.

Highlights of The College School

• Total enrollment is 55-60 students.
  
  
• Class size is limited to 10-12 students.
  
  
• Each classroom is led by a certified teacher who has the support of one or two classroom assistants.
  
  
• Teaching staff consits of 7 master teachers, 5 teacher assistants, 2 full-time and 2 part-time multisensory instructors, and 4 graduate assistants
  
  
• Technology plays a key role in the learning process as evidenced by our 1:1 computer to student ratio.
  
  
• University of Delaware faculty and staff lend their unique expertise to all phases of the school.
  
  
• Each student receives mentoring during the school day with an assigned University of Delaware graduate or undergraduate student each semester.
  
  
• The one rule at our school is BE KIND.
