CO2 Emission at Mammoth Mountain
Mammoth Mountain, in eastern California, began 200 thousand years ago and produced eruptions as recently as 300-700 years ago. There are areas of dying forest and trees and land have been destroyed by CO2 emissions.

Old Volcano Awakens on Montserrat
Repeated steam explosions occurred and sulfur dioxide was found in August in Montserrat which formed as a result of plate tectonics.
