The STAR Campus
The STAR (Science, Technology and Advanced Research) campus is located on 272 acres of land that adjoin the southeastern quadrant of the University of Delaware campus, near 535 South College Ave., Newark, DE. Formerly a site where the Chrysler corporation assembled cars, this campus will host a variety of academic programs, research programs and corporations that can interface with University of Delaware research.
The first building on the site will host the College of Health Sciences research faculty and businesses that work in the area of health care. This renovated building will have over 300,000 ft2 of space, with 105,000 dedicated to College of Health Sciences research programs in orthopedics, movement and mobility, physical therapy, exercise science, the wounded warrior prosthetics research BADER consortium, the Delaware Health Sciences Alliance and our Nurse Managed Health Clinic.
The site is expected to be open and operational in January 2014. Below are some renditions of what the site will look like.
