Dear CHEP Colleagues,
On behalf of the CHEP College Council, I would like to announce the
names of the individuals who were appointed to three College
committees at the Council's inaugural meeting last Friday. Their
names, as well as the names of College Council members, are listed
below. The College Council also plans to establish a webpage, as
described below, to help the CHEP community keep abreast of
Council activities.
Finally, I invite you to share your suggestions and concerns with your
representatives on the College Council, especially in this first year of
its operation, so that the Council can operate as effectively and fairly
as possible.
1. The Council appointed the following individuals based on
nominations made by each department or school. Each committee will
be convening shortly.

2. The CHEP College Council will soon establish a Council webpage
on which you can find announcements for Council meetings, agendas,
minutes, and other Council-related information and documents.
Periodic e-mail announcements will notify you of material added to the
webpage.
3. Please convey to your Council representatives any issues you wish
the Council to consider. They, in turn, will try to keep you apprised of
Council deliberations. Agendas for Council meetings will be
announced one week before the meetings are held. The next Council
meeting will be held on November 21.
Recall that the charge to the Council, as stated in the College By-Laws, is:
"...to advise the Dean on matters affecting the general welfare
of the College. The Dean shall consult, as appropriate, with
the College Council on the following matters: strategic
planning, allocation of resources, research issues, program
evaluation, College organization, and other similar topics
having significant effects on the College community."
