Executive Committee Proposal to create a College Council Committee on Committees

At the College Council's Executive Committee meeting on December 3, 1997, it was agreed that the Committee would bring forward to the full Council a proposal to create a College Council Committee on Committees.

The Committee on Committees would be charged with the following duties:

  1. To develop and clarify operating procedures to be followed by the standing committees of the College Council and, where appropriate, to forward to the full Council recommendations regarding committee procedures, the council's own procedures, or, if necessary, the College By-Laws.
  2. To develop and implement more detailed procedures for the selection of members of the standing committees, including attention to such issues as terms of service, continuity of membership, and procedures for nomination and selection of members.

    Membership on the committee would include three elected members of the Council, the three chairs of the standing committees, and an ex officio representative of the Dean's Office (Elaine Stotko).
