CONCLUSION

Is taking anabolic steroids for body building in principle no different from administering growth hormone to persons with inherited dwarfism?

In conclusion, taking anabolic steroids for bodybuilding is in principle different from administering HGH to individuals with inherited dwarfism because even though, the two drugs are related, the motivations for taking them differ.  Individuals with inherited dwarfism are at a disadvantage because they cannot produce HGH.  Therefore, they are justified in taking HGH.  Bodybuilders do have the appropriate amount of anabolic steroids in their body, but take an extra amount.  Besides the obvious unfairness of some athletes taking anabolic steroids, and the contradiction to standard ideas of competition, the underlying motivations for taking anabolic steroids are focused on vanity.  Therefore, bodybuilders taking anabolic steroids and individuals with inherited dwarfism who use HGH are in principle very different.
