Jerry Trofimenko
Matt Kieber-Emmons was awarded
the First Trofimenko Memorial Prize for his doctoral work on nickel-dioxygen
and nickel-sulfur chemistry. The
Prize, to be awarded annually for creative inorganic synthesis at the graduate
level, honors our friend and colleague, Swiatoslaw “Jerry” Trofimenko, the
father of polypyrazolylborate chemistry.
Jerry passed away on February 26, 2007 following a long illness.
