Course Description

Overview of our current understanding of the role of metal ions in the structure and function of proteins, enzymes and nucleic acids.  Emphasis will be placed on the synergism between biochemical and synthetic model studies with examples provided by the current literature.  Students will be exposed to contemporary topics at the interface of biochemistry, inorganic chemistry and biophysics.
