Research Paper
Select a
topic of contemporary interest in inorganic chemistry (broadly defined).
Something in line with your research interests is fine provided it is not too
closely aligned (as determined by me). Research the topic such that you
become expert in the area. The final product of your efforts is a
research paper that summarizes the current state of the field, highlighting any
controversies that exist (and YOUR stance in the controversy based on careful
analysis of the data) and clearly suggesting where the field in headed in the
near future (next 2-3 years) including the hypotheses that should be tested,
experiments to be performed, etc.
