The 45th annual Glenn S. Skinner Memorial Award was presented to Mr. Brad Bauer on April 29, 2011 at the Departmental Physical Chemistry Seminar. Brad received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Desales University in May of 2006 and began his graduate career pursing a Ph.D. in the research group of Professor Sandeep Patel in the fall of 2006.  Brad successfully defended his dissertation entitled “Development and Application of Charge Equilibration Force Fields for the Study of Aqueous Solutions and Interfaces” on April 6, 2011 and will be graduating on May 28, 2011.

 

This award, in honor of Dr. Skinner, is presented for distinction in scholarship, research, teaching and service by a graduate student in the Department.  Dr. Skinner was a very active member of the Chemistry faculty from 1928 to 1958.  As a recipient of this award, Brad received a certificate and a check in the amount of $2,500.00.
