For any lab course:
All students MUST complete the EHS Safety Training before they are allowed to begin labwork. This training can be completed during the first lab session with the following document: TA training 2012.pdf
Training can also be completed on the Web: "Basic Right-To-Know Safety training for Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory Students" . Access online training at: http://www.udel.edu/ehs.
For independent study, or any course that involves laboratory research (e.g. Chem 334H): Prior to conducting undergraduate laboratory research, students should access the Environmental Health and Safety website (http://www.udel.edu/ehs/), click on the "EHS Online Training" icon on the right, and complete the following two training modules: Chemical Hygiene/Right-to-Know Safety Training for Research Personnel and Proper Chemical Waste Disposal Training. These must be completed satisfactorily in order for you to conduct undergraduate research. These two training modules should be repeated annually for all laboratory research students.
Undergraduate students should also complete the training module entitled: New Graduate Student Orientation-Laboratory Students
