WHERE: CARPENTER SPORTS BUILDING GYM 1. Not sure where the Carpenter Sports Building is? (Directions) WHO MAY TRY OUT: All current UD students and incoming Delaware freshmen (high school seniors). There are no height or weight restrictions to participate in tryouts. Applicants will be judged solely on the criteria specified in the Skill Prerequisites description. (Examples: CO-ED STUNTING, tumbling, crowd leading ability, motions, overall impression, and potential) IMPORTANT: Be sure to print out, complete, and sign the required Consent Form before coming to tryouts! You must also print out and bring the waiver as well. (Participants under 18 years of age will also need the signature of a parent or guardian.) EQUALLY IMPORTANT: All current UD students interested in trying out MUST get a physical examination at the Sports Medicine Building on campus -- BEFORE tryouts. Call (302) 831-2482. POST-TRYOUT MEETING: There will be a post tryout meeting, which will go over a variety of information including: summer open practices, mandatory practice week, etc. PARENTS: Parents are more than welcome to watch on Friday night and warm-ups on Saturday Morning in Gym 1. The final tryout will take place in Gym 2 and will be a closed tryout. REQUIREMENTS: Participents will be judged based on stunting, tumbling, as well as overall cheer ability and personality. 11/16/2009: The University of Delaware Cheerleading Team has been working hard the last few months preparing their UCA Entry tape for 2010 College Nationals. The Team's hard work paid off, with placing 2nd as a team, and having partner stunt couples Jeremy Perlini and Samantha Wilkes along with Brad Obuchowski and Katy Kakol both qualify for competition as well. Congratulations to them and the team! In addition the 2010 Winter Stunt Clinic has a confirmed date! If you are interested in participating in our annual stunt clinic, please click here for more information. 01/26/09: NATIONALS UPDATE 12/18/08: NATIONALS UPDATE 11/26/08: NATIONALS UPDATE 11/19/08: NATIONALS UPDATE The dance team earned 1st place in the Division 1 category earning them a paid trip to Disney World. YouDee also earned a paid trip placing 1st out of 12 mascots in the newly expanded Division 1 category. Finally the cheerleaders also earned a paid trip with their second place finish in the Division 1 category. In addition to the teams, two couples from the cheerleading squad qualified for the Partner Stunt Competition held the first night in Orlando. Jon Lee and Lauren Greco placed 18th out 42 teams, and Ben Schreiber and Gillian Guadagnino’s tape placed first in the competition. The University of Delaware cheerleading squad has had two couples win the partner stunt competition the past two consecutive years. 10/3/08: A date has finally been set for our annual fall stunt clinic. For information and registration click here. 8/31/08: The University of Delaware Cheerleaders, had their first game this weekend at the University of Maryland. Though the team lost 14-7, the cheerleading team never stopped showing their spirit as the blue hens played a terrific game. Heather Records, who's been a member of the University of Delaware Cheerleading team since 2006, has recently been featured in the "Best of Delaware" issue of Delaware Today. The issue can be seen online here.
8/12/08: Tryouts, were an intense atmosphere, as the competition to make the team brought out some amazing skills from both new members and veterans alike. The new 2008-2009 team can be seen here.

The University of Delaware Cheerleading Team has just returned from camp at the Pocono Environmental Education Center. There the team spent 4 days accomplishing a great deal preparing skills for the upcoming season.
