The Downtown Newark Partnership is a private-public partnership dedicated to the economic enhancement of downtown Newark. The partnership includes the university, the city, and the residential and business communities which work together toward a common goal—the ongoing revitalization of Main Street—with mutual benefits. Parking Downtown

In addition to on-street metered parking, the city offers three gated, pay-to-park lots that can be entered via Main Street. Lot parking costs 50 cents per half hour, and many businesses validate parking. All municipal parking (on- and off-street) is free on Sundays, City holidays and during special events.
