She's Right on the Money....
“She’s Right on the Money,” an article written by Leslie A. Pappas and published in the business section of the Wilmington News Journal on December 15, 2007, told of United States Treasurer Anna Escobedo Cabral’s visit to the Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship. Second graders at North Star Elementary School in Hockessin had an opportunity to meet with her and to gather information with questions they asked. Treasurer Cabral also visited classrooms at Cab Calloway School of the Arts High School in Wilmington to observe economic education in action and toured a small-business incubator at the YWCA in Newark’s College Square Shopping Center. At a luncheon at the Blue and Gold Club on the University of Delaware campus, she told members of the business community that “the crisis in the subprime mortgage market has highlighted the need for financial education throughout the country…Finding effective ways to educate people about personal finance is a priority.” This article can be purchased in the Delaware Online news archive section.
