Center for Disabilities Studies : Community Education : Supported Employment Certificate Program

Supported Employment Certificate Program

Supporting one's right to work stands as a critical component in the effort to promote community inclusion and quality of life for people with disabilities. This training series, offered by the Center for Disabilities Studies in conjunction with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Department of Education, offers best practices techniques and theories in the ever-changing field of supported employment. The series also provides a unique opportunity for employees from the Delaware school districts and the adult provider agencies to discuss common goals and interests and to work through barriers to successful transition from school to work.

Sessions in this six-seminar series are highly interactive, relying on adult learning principles to involve participants in the learning process. Participants are asked to make every attempt to attend the complete series, since maximum benefit is derived from participating in all sessions.
