Recreation, Enhancement, and Learning (REAL) Project
The REAL (Recreation Enhancement And Learning) Project is an adult continuing education program specifically designed for adults with disabilities in Delaware. The REAL Project aims to meet the need of going beyond the traditional K-12 education for Delawareans with disabilities. REAL is funded through the MBNA Helen Graham Foundation, DFRC, the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, the Healthy Delawareans with Disabilities 2010 Project, and the Center for Disabilities Studies.
The REAL Project is presented in a three unit format over the course of one year. In each unit there are six tracks.
The six tracks are:
Exploring Employment
Independent Living
Health and Safety
Fine Arts
Leadership and Advocacy
Smoking Cessation
In each track there are six classes. Each unit offers six different classes under each track, for a total of 90 classes offered.
