In-Class Exercise: Each community planning team will work to develop a comprehensive list of the real estate development and finance terms with which they are familiar. The terms must be defined to the extent of the groups understanding.

In-Class Exercise: Each community planning team will develop a Pro-Forma project using a template that will be provided. Through this exercise, the community planning teams will become familiar with all of the elements of a Mixed-Use Project in order to help guide their thinking around the impact on the project of each of its components on their communities and the financial decisions made in the development process. In-Class Exercise: Each community planning team will develop a budget and funding plan (Sources and Uses) for the housing development project. Each community planning team will present their budget and funding plan to the entire group. The lead trainer and the CCRS trainers will critique each budget and plan.

Real Estate Project

In-Class Exercise: Each community planning team will develop a Program Plan, inclusive of the Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives for a Child Care program as a component of a mixed-use project. The plans will be developed utilizing the learning objectives and program planning steps addressed throughout the day’s training. Reports from 3 of the community planning teams will be asked to share their work with the entire group. Each team’s plan will be critiqued by the lead trainer and the CCRS trainers.
