MBNA pledges $25 million to UD
The University of Delaware announced Feb. 14 that it has received a pledge of $25 million from MBNA America toward UD’s fundraising effort–the Campaign for Delaware. The gift–the largest made to date to the Campaign for Delaware–will be used to provide scholarships and to support educational programs for students and faculty.

Hearst Foundation announces grant
The William Randolph Hearst Foundation has announced a $100,000 grant to establish an endowed scholarship fund for students in the ASPIRE Program in the College of Human Resources, Education and Public Policy. Known as the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Scholarship Fund, the new fund will provide support for minority students interested in careers as educators.
