Some give because they want to be associated with one or more of the Universitys stellar academic or athletic programs. Some give because they want to be leaders, helping the University remain among the nations select institutions of higher education. Some give because their families have long associations with the University, and in several instances, those associations date back to 1743 when the Rev. Francis Alison convened his first class. Others give because they are grateful for the education provided them during there college careers here at the University of Delaware.
