The reasons why individuals and organizations give to the University of Delaware are as diverse as the donors themselves.

Some give because their families have long associations with the University, and in several instances, those associations date back to 1743 when the Rev. Francis Alison convened his first class. Others give because they are grateful for the education provided them during there college careers here at the University of Delaware.
