Expectations of Blue Hen Leaders
- BHLP leaders are expected to treat presenters with respect by listening and
engaging actively. This requires that all cell phones are turned off so no
calls, texting or tweeting will occur.
- BHLP leaders are to understand that the BHLP is primarily an experience of
theoretical, practical and inspirational learning. Learning only truly occurs
through active engagement; therefore, BHLP participants are encouraged to
take notes, ask questions and otherwise have appropriate interaction with the
presenters and other participants.
- BHLP leaders are expected to rsvp to programs that feature guest presenters

- BHLP leaders are expected to set personal and professional goals that relate
to the 4 competencies.
- BHLP leaders are expected to complete the online reflection for each program they attend.
What Blue Hen Leaders can Expect from the Program
- BHLP leaders can expect to participate in meaningful programs of high quality.
- BHLP leaders can expect to develop a personal definition of leadership, and to be able to articulate goals and relate them to experience, skills and knowledge gained through the program.
- BHLP leaders can expect to learn to view leadership through the lenses of the 4 program competency areas.
- BHLP leaders can expect to be
treated with respect.
- BHLP leaders can expect to
have access to the Leadership

about goals and the process
of their own personal or
