Click Here To find out why we are taking surveys

Click on the links below to go to each survey. After you've finished with one you will need to return to OASIS to complete the others. Please be aware that you do not have to answer all the surveys or answer them in any particular order. We will regularly add new surveys so please check back often.

  • TELLING A CHILD THEIR DIAGNOSIS
This survey is for both PARENTS of children with AS and INDIVIDUALS with AS. We are interested in finding out when and if parents have shared the diagnosis with their children and if it had a positive or negative result. We would also like to hear from Individuals with AS as to their opinion on sharing the diagnosis with children and if they feel that knowing the diagnosis would have made their childhood easier.

  • RECOMMENDED RESOURCES
This survey is for both parents of children with AS and individuals with AS. While Patty and I have our own "top ten list" of recommended resources, we would like to know which books, webpages, articles and videos you have found most helpful to you and to those around you.

  • FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF ASPERGER SYNDROME
This survey is for parents or caregivers of individuals with Asperger Syndrome ONLY. For parents or caregivers of other Autistic Spectrum Disorders or Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NLD), please see the survey below.

  • BEHAVIORS THAT WERE INITIALLY THOUGHT TO BE SOMETHING ELSE
This short survey asks for input on behaviors that were initially thought to be caused by something other than Asperger Syndrome or related disorders. For example, the child who refused to write and was labelled "stubborn" but was later diagnosed with dysgraphia.

  • APPLIED BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS (ABA)
This short survey asks for input from parents who have tried or considered trying ABA for their children with AS. It also asks for questions that parents might have about ABA and what they might like to see addressed in the book. (we have an opportunity to interview a top expert in this area and while we have the chance we would love to help answer any of your questions)
