Tests and Grading for B408
Five examinations
will be given during the semester; two lecture exams (100 pts. each), two lab.
exams (100 pts. each) and one final comprehensive exam (200pts.) for a total of
600 possible points.
Historically the
grades for this course have been distributed as follows: A480-600, B 400-480,
C 350-400,
D 300-350. No student with less than 300 total
points will pass the course. This distribution will vary from year
to year depending upon overall performance of the class and grouping of
students into grade categories. Plus and minus grades are possible but seldom
given.
Lecture exams will
be objective in nature and test the studentŐs knowledge of the lecture material
and text chapters indicated in the syllabus. Laboratory exams will be practical
and based on microscopic identification of tissues and cells and their
anatomical relationships.
Absences and Makeup Exams
Students without an
excused absence for an exam (written medical justification) will receive 0
points for that exam. Makeup exams must be taken within one week of the
absence. Makeup lab. exams will be individualized (i.e instructor asking
questions from slides prescribed for the
laboratories).
Students
suspected of having a learning disability must seek an accommodation from the office of academic
enrichment
