Group D Breadth Requirement

For non-Biology majors

Non-majors seeking to fill the Group D General Education Breadth Requirement should normally enroll in 100 level biology courses. The following courses (see course descriptions) typically are offered in both Fall and Spring semesters:

  • BISC 103 - General Biology
  • BISC 104 - Principles in Biology
  • BISC 105 - Human Heredity and Development
  • BISC 106 - Elementary Human Physiology
  • BISC 152 - Biology of Human Sexuality

Two additional routinely offered courses (offered in either fall or spring semester) that fulfill the Group D requirement are:

  • BISC 110 - Viruses, Genes and Cancer
  • BISC 171 - Microbiology in Modern Society

BISC 104 is a 4-credit course which includes a laboratory which fulfills the Group D laboratory requirement. None of the other courses listed above has a laboratory component.
