  Journals

  The subscription publication year coincides with the academic year. Service begins upon receipt of payment or approved purchase order. We do not refund for cancelled subscriptions.

  A fee of $10.00 per subscription will be added to subscriptions outside the U.S. for postage. Journal subscriptions are shipped overseas via International Surface Airlift.

  Air mail posting is available for an additional $30.00/year for Childhood Education and $11.00/year for Journal of Research in Childhood Education.

  Subscribers outside the U.S. should allow up to 2 months for delivery of each issue; claims for non-receipt must be made within 120 days of publication. ACEI cannot guarantee delivery of overseas shipments.

  Claims for non-receipt of issues and address changes should be sent to ACEI Claims, 17904 Georgia Avenue, Suite 215, Olney, MD 20832-2277, U. S. A.

  Claims for missing issues for U.S.A. subscribers must be made within 60 days of publication. Outside the U.S.A., 120 days.

  Periodicals are scheduled for mailing within the first 15 days of October, December, February, April, June, and August for Childhood Education and November and May for Journal of Research in Childhood Education.

  • Renewal notices for the subscription will be issued each year on the anniversary of the subscription.

  • Back issues of some subscription items are available from ACEI. Contact the ACEI Sales Department for prices or information on out-of-print items.   Prepaid Book Orders

  Orders less than $10.00 and over $1,000.00 must be prepaid. Members and institutions that subscribe to Childhood Education pay the member price, all others will be billed at the list price. Prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice.

  Payment—VISA, MasterCard, International Money Order, and Checks are accepted as payment. Checks must be payable to ACEI. Checks must be drawn on a U.S. or Canadian bank. Canadian checks may be written in U.S. funds or equivalent Canadian dollars (based on current exchange rate). Charge Card Service—Ordering by telephone or fax is much easier and faster. Call toll free 800-423-3563, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. EST. Or fax your order to 1-301-570-2212. Have your credit card number ready; $5.00 minimum order.

  Shipping—Inside the USA shipping and handling are free (USPS Book Rate) on prepaid orders. Allow three to four weeks for delivery. Express Mail and UPS are available for $5 or 15% of the total order, whichever is the greater amount. For UPS 3rd Day, 2nd Day, or Next Day Air; please call for price. UPS delivery is not available for PO Boxes.
  Outside the USA. Add $5 or 30% to your total order, whichever is the greater amount. Shipment will be via USPS Overseas Air for small packages.

  Billed Orders

  Orders more than $10.00 but less than $1,000.00 may be billed upon receipt of an official Purchase Order.

  Shipping/handling charges:

  
  
  • For Priority Mail: $3 or 10% of the total order, whichever is the greater amount;
    
  • For UPS: $5 or 15% of the total order, whichever is the greater amount.
    
  • For UPS Cosignee Shipping, handling charges of 5% will be added.
    
  • For RPS Collect Shipping, $8.00 pick-up fee plus a 5% handling fee will be added.

  Be sure to include shipping on your purchase order.

  Terms are net thirty days. A Rebilling Charge of $6.00 plus 1.5% interest will be added monthly to all accounts over 30 days old.

  Book Return Policy

  • Authorized Returns
    1. Books may be returned for credit only. Refund checks will not be issued in place of credit at any time.
    2. Books cannot be returned without first requesting permission to return books.
    3. Permission to return books must be requested in writing within 90 days of the date of shipment. (Attention Book Stores: If you need an extension on the 90 days please contact the ACEI Book Returns Manager within the 90 days to request an extension at (301)570-2111).
    4. Permission to return books will not be granted if the original invoice is unpaid.
    5. No more than 20% of the original material ordered may be returned. This is a per order amount. (eg., for 100 ordered books, 20 books may be returned.)
    6. ACEI's invoice or receipt number must be stated in the return request.
    7. Returned books must be unmarked and in salable condition. Pack carefully! All stickers must be removed.
    8. Books that have been damaged in shipment can be returned to ACEI for replacement only. No other credit will be given.
    9. Postage on returns must be prepaid at the shipper's risk. In the case of misshipments or damaged items received, only Book Rate postage will be refunded.
    
    
  • Unauthorized Returns
    1. No credit will be issued for books returned without prior permission.
    2. ACEI will notify sender, one time only, upon receipt of an unauthorized return. ACEI will return materials at sender's expense, by request only.
    
    
  • Credit Memos
    1. A credit memo will be sent for the amount of credit issued. The credit memo may be applied to a future order. No refund checks are issued.
    2. A service charge of $5.00 or 10% of the the value of the returned material (whichever is greater) will be charged on all returns (subtracted from the amount of credit to be issued).
    3. Credit memos expire one year after the date of issue. (Attention Book Stores: If you need an extension on the one year please contact the ACEI Book Returns Manager before the credit memo expires to request an extension at (301) 570-2111 or fax(301) 570-2212).

  Bookstores receive a negotiated discount off the list price of any publication.

  Desk Copies

  Requests for Examination or Desk copies of books must be made on Institution Letterhead. FAX or mail requests to ACEI.
• Books may be ordered as examination copies by teachers if they are being considered for class adoption. You will be invoiced for the examination copy at list price less a 10% discount. If the book is adopted for your class and ten or more copies are ordered, no charge will be made for the examination copy. The invoice must be returned with the bookstore order.
