Institutional Training for the
ACEI/NCATE Program Report Process
for Elementary Education Programs

ACEI is a constituent member of the
National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education

Universities and colleges seeking NCATE accreditation for elementary teacher education programs may be required to submit a program review demonstrating compliance with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)
Standards for Elementary Teacher Preparation. The Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI), which is responsible for the program review process, regularly conducts training to familiarize university and college personnel with NCATE's program review process. The training is available in two formats:

1) a comprehensive, 2-day training workshop held in conjunction with ACEI's Annual International Conference (the next training session is scheduled for April 14-17, 2004, in New Orleans, LA) or, 2) ACEI will send a trained specialist to your campus (see On-Site Training).

Training includes hands-on practice demonstrations, presentations, written exercises, and discussion sessions on the following topics:

Annual International Conference . . .

The fee for institutions wishing to send a representative(s) to attend the Institutional Training ONLY is $450 per registrant. The fee of $600 (additional registrants $550 each) includes training materials, plus full Conference registration.

2) Campus On-Site Training

ACEI offers comprehensive "on-site" training to all colleges and universities seeking ACEI Program approval. We have professionally trained personnel who will visit your campus to help interpret the accreditation guidelines for elementary education and give advice on preparing your program review.

The training offered is the same excellent training offered by ACEI at our Annual International Conference. By taking advantage of our on-site training, you can save travel costs and time. Furthermore, the training can be conducted at your convenience; therefore, more faculty members can learn how to prepare and submit the review.

Hosting a 1-day or 2-day, on-site workshop for faculty members will cost the institution a fee of $1,000 plus the travel expenses of the trainer. This fee covers up to 12 participants and includes all materials used during the workshop. A fee of $25 per additional person will be charged for groups larger than 12 participants. ACEI does not limit the number of attendees at an on-site workshop.

For more information or to arrange for on-site training on your campus, call ACEI at 1-800-423-3563 or write: ACEI, 17904 Georgia Avenue, Suite 215, Olney, MD, USA 20832.

All registrations should be submitted in writing and must be accompanied by a check, VISA or MasterCard number and expiration date or an institutional purchase order.
