Journal of Research in Childhood Education Author Guidelines
Manuscripts should be submitted in triplicate (one original and two high quality machine copies) to the Editor: Kathleen Glascott Burriss, Department of Elementary and Special Education, Box 69, Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN 37132. To facilitate blind review, the author(s) should limit all identifying materials --names, affiliations, footnotes -- to the title page. The first page of text should carry the title with the remaining pages carrying a running head. Manuscripts should be typed, doublespaced, on 8 1/2" x 11" paper and should be between 10 and 30 pages including the reference list. Author(s) are required to provide a 100-200 word abstract.
The Publication Manual (4th ed.) of the American Psychological Association provides the author(s) with guidelines for format, style and ethics to be followed by the Journal. Copies of figures and tables are acceptable at submission; however, upon acceptance the author(s) must provide camera-ready glossy prints with the final revision of accepted manuscripts.
All manuscripts will be acknowledged promptly. Only manuscripts submitted solely to the Journal will be reviewed by the Editor or Associate Editor and the Board of Consulting Editors. Articles judged to be of substantial importance to those concerned with the education of children and of the highest quality and ethical standards will be accepted. Normally, the review process takes three months, after which the author or senior author will be promptly notified of the editorial decision. Author(s) are requested to transfer copyright to ACEI.
