Registration
All attendees, including presenters,
guests, and facilitators, must register. Student registration
fees are for full-time students and your advisor's signature
is required on the registration form if you are registering as a
student. Proof of registration (Conference badge) is required for
admission to sessions, meetings, functions, the exhibits, and other
ACEI-sponsored events. The registration form is not yet available.
For planning purposes, the 2005 Conference Registration Fees are:

Reduced Housing Rates
Special housing rates have been arranged with the
Grand Hyatt Washington. To take advantage of these rates, complete
the Hotel Reservation Form and send it directly to the Grand Hyatt
Washington, 1000 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20001, USA. If you
choose to make your housing reservation by telephone: (202) 582-1234
or their Reservations Center: (800) 233-1234, be certain to mention
that you will be attending the ACEI Annual International Conference
& Exhibition to get the reduced rates. A deposit of the first night's
accommodation rate plus tax is required and is fully refundable if
reservation is cancelled at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to
arrival and a cancellation number is obtained.
The price for rooms is $159 Single or Double
occupancy (plus tax)
When ACEI holds its Annual International Conference & Exhibition
in a city, our staff negotiates with the headquarters hotel
to block a sufficient number of guest rooms for attendees. We
do this in order to provide safe and secure accommodations,
while enjoying the hospitality of quality, upscale lodging.
Keep in mind that if ACEI does not fill the contractual obligations
with the headquarters hotel, the Association will be required
to pay significant financial penalties.
Please support your professional Association by making your
reservation with the Grand Hyatt Washington the headquarters
hotel for the 2005 Conference. Thank you!
Registration Hours
Registration will be open on Wednesday from
7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and located
in the 3rd floor Constitution Level Foyer.
Tours and Ticketed Events
You are strongly encouraged to pre-register for ticketed events.
Guests not attending the Conference can purchase tickets for meal
events only without registering for the Conference. Tickets not
sold during pre-registration will be sold on-site. Most events
sell out, so we do encourage you to pre-register. Meal event ticket
sales and reservations are final. No refunds unless ACEI cancels
the event.

Exhibits
The Exhibit Hall officially opens on Thursday,
April 15, at 6:30 p.m. The exhibition, which features exhibitors,
the Joint Publishers Book/Periodical Exhibit, "Take One"
Table, and Video Fair, as well as ACEI publications, allows
attendees to examine a wide range of new professional materials.
Exhibits will be located on the 5th floor of the Grand Hyatt
Washington in the Independence Ballroom. Drawings will be held
throughout the duration of the Exhibit for free prizes donated
by ACEI exhibitors and others. Visit the Exhibit Hall to find
out how you can become eligible to win a prize.
Getting to the Conference
Air Transportation: Click on Travel
Driving to the Conference:
Traveling from North and Baltimore-Washington Airport.
Head west on I-195 and then south on Hwy 295 (BaltimoreÐWashington
Pkwy). Head west on US-50/New York Ave. Turn left onto Seventh
St NW and right onto H St NW. Continue to the hotel on the left.
Traveling from West and Washington Dulles International
Airport. Head east on Dulles Airport Access Rd. Continue
east on I-66 and cross the Roosevelt Bridge. While crossing
the bridge, stay in the middle lanes and follow the signs for
Constitution Ave. Continue on Constitution Ave and turn left
onto 14th St. Turn right onto F St NW. Turn left onto 11th St
NW. Turn right onto H St NW and proceed to the hotel on the
right.
Traveling from East. Take US Route 50 West into
the city and make a left on US Route 1. Make a right on H Street
and proceed to hotel on the left hand side.
Traveling from South and Washington National Airport.
Follow signs to George Washington Parkway to I-395 North. Take
395 North towards Washington to 12th Street Exit. Make a right
onto H Street and go down one block. Grand Hyatt is located
on the right hand side.

Dress
For most of the Conference, business attire
is appropriate. Otherwise in Washington, casual and comfortable
clothing is recommended. Some restaurants may require a jacket
and tie. If you plan to go on a tour, bring along a pair of
good walking shoes and dress in layers.
Weather
The weather in Washington in late March can
vary from late season snows to early season heat waves. Normal
average temperatures range from 46/67¼ F. Bring a variety of
clothes if you plan to sightsee during your stay. Evenings tend
to be cool; bring a warm coat, hat and gloves.
