ARTC Information Session
On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, the Alternative Routes to Teacher Certification (ARTC) program organized an engaging Information Session for district leaders and school administrators. The session covered a comprehensive overview of the ARTC program, specifically focusing on the Master’s Plus Certification Program Track in Exceptional Children and Youth (MPCP) program and School Library Media. Additionally, valuable insights into other CEETP programs, such as Teachers for Tomorrow, Teacher Residency, and Recruitment options for districts were shred with participants. Dr. Lauren Bailes, a distinguished guest speaker, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on teacher retention and recruitment strategies, which resonated deeply with the school leaders. The meeting saw representation from seven districts, two charter schools, and the Archdiocese of Delaware, making it a truly collaborative and enriching event.

ARTC Teacher Kudos
If you have an accomplishment you would like to share about an ARTC Teacher or Alumni, we would love to post it.
ARTC offers an alternative to the traditional route to teacher certification in Delaware.
Schools are currently challenged to find enough certified teachers in various “critical need” subjects, including teachers of English language learners, math, science, technology education, business, family and consumer sciences, world language, and special education.
As schools strive to provide a relevant and challenging education for all their students, they rely more heavily on the specific skills of teachers who have gained expertise educating children with special needs.
Within two years, you can develop the skills to organize library collections, design instructional strategies that promote student achievement and foster a love of reading and independent learning.
Through this program, qualified undergraduate English and English Education majors can earn a B.A in English/English Education and an MA in Teaching English Language Learner in 5 years.
