During the academic year 2004-05, the Department of Fine Arts and Visual Communications, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Center for Teaching Effectiveness brought Lily Yeh to the University of Delaware as a Distinguished Artist in Residence. She has been working with faculty, students and the local African American community on a set of public art and oral history projects honoring the history of the African American community adjacent to the University of Delaware’s main Newark campus. These projects include photographic portraits, a commemorative quilt, a sculpture garden, a collection of oral histories and community-based photography, and video documentaries.
