Undergraduate Admissions

Admission to the Department of Art and Design as an undergraduate student is a two-part process. Students must complete the common application to the University (Do NOT submit an Art supplement), and submit an application to the department. The application to the department consists of a digital portfolio of art work and a written essay which are uploaded to the UD/ART Digital Portfolio Applications website and evaluated by the Art and Design Department Admissions Committee (DAC).

All accepted first-year students are initially admitted into the department's Bachelor of Arts (BA). After the conclusion of the sophomore year, students may apply to either of two professional Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree programs or select to continue in the BA degree.

Entry into the BFA programs is based upon submission of a portfolio of work from the courses taken during your Foundation years. The two BFA options are Fine Arts and Visual Communications.
