Finding an Advisor

Obtaining an Art and Design Department Advisor:

When you are accepted into the Art and Design Department as a Freshman, you are accepted as a BA (Bachelor of Arts) student. You must complete the Freshman Foundations courses in order to apply to a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree program (i.e. Visual Communications or Fine Arts).

As a freshman in the Art and Design Department, you are assigned an Art and Design Department faculty advisor. This person will be a professor from any of the degree programs throughout the department. When you contact your advisor as a Freshman, be sure to indicate that you are a Freshman in the Art and Design Department, and be very comprehensive with your question.

Once you are accepted into a BFA Degree Program (Visual Communications or Fine Arts) the Art office will assign a professor in the appropriate BFA degree program.

Changing your Advisor:

Please contact the Art office to discuss changing your advisor.
