UD is a prominent research institution with acknowledged expertise in chemical and materials engineering, energy technologies, environmental science, agriculture, biomechanics and biotechnology, and the health sciences.
An important component of UD's mission is to build the University's knowledge-based assets and deploy these assets for the benefit of the University, the community, state, region and nation.

UD's APG partnership is managed by the Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships. OEIP serves as a gateway to enable entrepreneurship and innovation by leveraging the University's knowledge-based assets in partnership with industry, government and other academic institutions through innovation and entrepreneurship, partnerships, the Intellectual Property Center, IP Asset Development, Technology Transfer, and the Small Business Development Center.
