 Mission
The mission of the Ph.D. Program in American Civilization is to prepare advanced students for scholarly careers in research and writing, teaching, historic preservation, or museum work. Lodged within the Department of History and affiliated with the Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library, the program’s emphasis is on American social history, American material and visual culture, and American cultural history. |
