East Campus

Information for those who have reserved rooms at the Russell Residence Hall Complex:

• Each room is a double, which includes two beds (twin, extra long).
• The rooms are not air-conditioned. Rooms have one window, which measures 5'w by 4'h. You are not permitted to bring an air conditioner, but you are welcome to provide your own window fan that is in compliance with the window measurements. The University does not have any window fans available for loan, rent, or purchase.
• If you have any medical conditions that would be aggravated by potentially humid/warm temperatures, you are encouraged to seek alternate housing arrangements.
• Unfortunately, linen packages are not available for purchase in the Russell Complex. Please bring your own toiletries and bedding (i.e. extra long sheet, blanks, pillow, pillowcases, towels, etc.).
• Rooms do not have private bathrooms. There are two ample size gender designated community bathrooms located on each floor to accommodate multiple guests simultaneously.
• Each Russell Complex building has three floors and there are no elevators.

You will have help moving in to East Campus by a team of UD volunteers who will assist you with your luggage and belongings. Check-in and check-out will be located in the Russell D/E lounge. When you check-in, you will receive a room key and building access card. Check-in on Friday, May 31 opens at 3:00 p.m. Additional check-in and check-out information will be emailed in a confirmation the week prior to the event. Laird Campus

Information for those who have reserved rooms on Laird Campus:

You'll have help moving in! Just as the Arrival Survival Team helps new students move into their dorms each Fall semester, the Alumni Arrival Survival Team helps attendees move into the dorms for Alumni Weekend! Check-in on Friday, May 31 opens at 3:00 p.m. Additional check-in and check-out information will be emailed in a confirmation the week prior to the event.

At check-in, you will receive a room key and linen package (if purchased). Check-out by dropping off your room key and building access card at the Christiana Commons. Failure to drop off key and access card to the Christiana Commons will result in an additional charge of $113 needed to cover maintenance and locksmith costs. Linens may be left in the rooms. Do I need a rental car during Alumni Weekend?

The Comfort Suites, Hilton, Sheraton, and Staybridge Suites are a 15-minute drive from campus, and not in walking distance to UD. If you decide to stay at one of these hotels, then you would need to rent a car, or take a taxi or bus to campus.

If you decide to rent a car, please note that parking will be VERY LIMITED in Newark, especially on Saturday, June 1 during the City of Newark's daytime festival, at which time Main Street will be closed to traffic. City of Newark parking fees will apply during Alumni Weekend.
