A: There are many great reasons to make a contribution to your alma mater—and now here’s one more: early registration to many of our most coveted events, like Alumni Weekend. UD donors who have given $25 or more between July 2012 and February 15, 2014 get a full week to register for Alumni Weekend before the general public, including reserving dorm housing. A: Register for the online community (OLC) at www.UDconnection.com. Here you can network with UD Alumni, post class notes, stay involved with UD and check out the events calendar. (hide)Can I take a tour of campus during Alumni Weekend?
A: Several different tours of campus are offered on Saturday. Please see the schedule page on this website for more details. Also, you are welcome to stroll around campus at your leisure anytime throughout the weekend and enjoy the beauty and surroundings of your alma mater. (hide)Which events are child-friendly?
A: Most events are child-friendly. Alumni Relations suggests all children run the 1K Kids Fun Run prior to the Blue Hen 5K on Sunday, attend the Lunch with the UD Mascots at a reduced rate on Saturday, and visit the UDairy Creamery for a taste test and tour of the ice cream facility ($5 per person). The University pool is also open to the public all weekend ($5 per person admission). Check the schedule page for more details. (hide)Are pets allowed?
A: Pets are not allowed inside buildings, residence halls or under the tents. They are allowed everywhere else on campus. Please clean up after your pets, and keep them on a leash at all times. (hide)Can you accommodate special needs?
A: Alumni with special needs are encouraged to attend Alumni Weekend. We want those with physical challenges to have as few obstacles as possible during their stay and to be able to participate fully in all activities. A: Alumni Weekend traditionally falls on the weekend after UD commencement. Next year's dates are June 5-7, 2015. (hide)What happened to Newark Day?
A: The City of Newark has moved Newark Day to June 21, 2014. Please visit the City of Newark website for more information. (hide)What is the attire for the weekend?
A: Attire for the weekend is casual. We recommend comfortable clothes and shoes so that you can walk around campus during the day. Average daytime temperature for June in Delaware is in the low 80s. (hide)Do I have access to the recreational facilities?
A: As a Blue Hen, you will have access to Independence Hall gym facilities located on Laird Campus. Unfortunately the Carpenter Sports Building will be closed for cleaning during Alumni Weekend. (hide)
Transportation and ParkingIs there any major roadwork in the area to avoid?
A: Those driving to Newark from the North need to avoid I-495, which goes around downtown Wilmington. I-495 is temporarily closed in both directions over the Christina River because of bridge repair. Detours are in place, but drivers should expect delays. An alternative is I-95, which runs through downtown Wilmington. There may be added congestion regardless of the route you take with the increase in volume on other roadways. (hide)Where can I park?
A: Parking is available without a parking pass throughout the weekend at the Laird Campus (North Campus) lot. Trabant Garage, Perkins Garage and the Center for the Arts garage will all be open all weekend. Visit the parking website for special rates. On Friday, June 6, the maximum charge for any campus parking garage will be just $5. A limited number of handicap parking spaces are available throughout campus. Handicap registration plates or placards are required to use these spaces. (hide)How do I get to and from events on campus?

HousingIs there internet access in the residence halls?
A: Yes, there is wireless access in all residence halls. For more information about accommodations during Alumni Weekend, see the Stay at UD page. (hide)What are the directions to the residence halls?
A: The Independence Complex residence halls are located on Laird Campus (off Route 896) and are adjacent to the Christiana Towers. Parking for the weekend is free and is available near the Towers. Fellow Blue Hens volunteering for the Arrival Survival Team will assist you moving back into college! The East Campus dorms are located on Academy Street. Parking is available is Perkins Student Center parking garage (UD parking rates apply) or in the Pearson Hall surface lot. (hide)What items are included in the residence hall rooms when I arrive?
A: Laird Campus suites include cups, toilet paper, bar of soap and tissues. This year, pillows and blankets will NO LONGER BE INCLUDED IN THE ROOMS and are only available in the linen package. East Campus rooms do not include any items in the room, and soap and toilet paper are located in the hallway bathrooms. (hide)What time can I check-in to the residence halls?

A: Laird Campus guests: The front desk at the Christina Commons will be open 24 hours beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday until 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
East Campus guests: If you are checking into a dorm late, lose your key, or need immediate assistance, you will be provided an emergency 24-hour number to call. (hide)What is the check-out process and at what time can I check out?
A: Laird Campus guests: Drop off your room key and building FOB at the Christiana Commons. Failure to drop off key and access card to the Christiana Commons will result in an additional charge of $120.00 needed to cover maintenance and locksmith costs. Linens may be left in the rooms.

RegistrationWhen is the registration deadline?
A:Online registration (for events that are not sold out) closes on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Early Hen pricing will be available until Wednesday April 30, 2014 and after that, select event registration costs will increase.(hide)What if my plans change and I need to modify or cancel my registration?
A: The deadline for a full refund is May 23. After May 23, cancellations are non-refundable. Refunds will not be given for missed events after the event has taken place. Requests to change registrations can be submitted to the Office of Alumni Relations by May 23 by calling 302-831-2341 or emailing email@example.com. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to that email address. (hide)Can I pay cash or credit card for events at Alumni Weekend if I do not pre-register?
A: Yes, you can pay for events via cash or credit card throughout the weekend in Trabant University Center Multipurpose Room where you can sign up for events that are not sold out. You may also pay for the SN@S event via cash or credit card at Perkins Student Center beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday. That said, Alumni Relations recommends that, in order to save money and time, you register online and take advantage of Early Hen Registration which ends on April 30. (hide)Where and at what time can I pick up my registration materials on the day(s) of the event?
A: You can pick up your event registration materials for all events in Trabant University Center Multipurpose Rooms on Friday from 3 - 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. If you are attending Saturday Night @ The Scrounge, registration will be open in Perkins Student Center from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. If you are only attending Gold Guard, Alumni Wall of Fame, Saturday Night @ The Scrounge, or your 50th reunion, go directly to the event location and do not report to Trabant. If you are participating in the Blue Hen 5K on Sunday, day-of registration and pre-registration pick-up begins at 8:00 a.m. on Laird Campus. (hide)Can I register and check-in my friends for Alumni Weekend events?
A: Yes, you may register your friends for Alumni Weekend! However, if you register multiple people, their name badges will print out with yours upon check-in at Trabant University Center. If you’re attending Mug Night, all attendees need their name badge to access the tent as well as a wristband signifying that they are of drinking age. Wrist-banding stations will be located in Trabant and at Gore Hall. For dorm check-in, only the roommates you list will receive room keys and FOBs upon check-in.
