Responsibilities &
recruitment territory
Responsible for the coordination of activities that enhance the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of freshman and transfer international students. I also work closely with our Delaware International Ambassadors (DIAS) who assist me in all aspects of international recruitment. In addition to handling international applications, my domestic recruitment territories are Washington, D.C. and the metro Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia areas.
How did I get my nickname?
I don’t really have a nickname, but for a good year my friends called me Jordan. A few years ago I signed up for a half marathon in Little Rock, AR. The registration staff inquired about the origin of my name and I explained that it is from Jordan. Low and behold on race day, my race bib had my name as “Jordan.” My friends thought it was hysterical and I had that nickname until I moved out of Arkansas!
An interesting fact about the University that I discovered recently.
UD started study abroad in the United States in 1923 with a group of eight students spending their junior year abroad in Paris. The lecture hall they used 90 years ago to take classes is the same lecture hall that we use today!
The best thing to see or do when visiting campus
My favorite spot on campus is the fountain located across from Morris Library on the South Green. Sometimes we get caught up with all of the responsibilities and deadlines and forget to enjoy what is around us. When you visit campus, take the time to sit on a bench by this fountain, listen to the water and get excited about where you are in your life!
Words of advice for a student who is applying.
UD’s office of admissions prides itself on having a holistic approach to the review of applications. Your academic record of very good grades and test scores is important, but getting to know who you are through your essay is also important too.
