How did I get my nickname?
Ever since I was a kid, I was a fast walker and always appreciated the need to get somewhere as quickly as possible. Some people are aggressive drivers, but I'm an aggressive walker.
An interesting fact about the University that I discovered recently.
University of Delaware recently installed a wind turbine at our campus in Lewes, Delaware. This turbine is not only used for countless research opportunities for our students, but it also serves as the main source of energy for the campus and surrounding community.
The best thing to see or do when visiting campus
Experience an a cappella concert on campus. University of Delaware has seven different a capella groups that perform throughout the year and they are an absolute blast to watch!
Words of advice for a student who is applying.
Continue taking challenging classes throughout your senior year. Although you may only have a handful of classes left to fulfill your high school graduation requirements, a rigorous courseload will make you a more competitive applicant.
The coolest Delaware experience
Sampling a dish of ice cream made by UD's very own creamery. Starting in 2007, students in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources began producing the ice cream using milk from the dairy cattle raised on UD's campus. You can now enjoy this tasty delight by visiting the UDairy Creamery store near Townsend Hall, or purchase a pint to-go from our Main Street bookstore. Delaware River Mud Pie is my absolutely favorite!
First International Trip -China in 2007, while traveling with a collegiate choral group.
First Celebrity I Met - Robert De Niro in the Times Square Toys-R-Us...Go Figure
First Hero - Batman; I was seriously jealous of Vicki Vale for the longest time.
First Car - 1991 Honda Accord, named "Rhonda the Honda"
First Job - working part-time in a women's clothing boutique. To this day, I still love gift wrapping!
