An interesting fact about the University that I discovered recently.
The University has installed more than 2,000 solar panels on three buildings on campus. The system is expected to generate approximately 1,035 kilowatt hours of electricity each year and result in 1.8 million fewer pounds of carbon dioxide being emitted annually. The avoided emissions will be the equivalent of reducing the use of gasoline by 93,363 gallons each year.
The best thing to see or do when visiting campus
The University Mineralogical Museum located in Penny Hall has a collection of more than 6,000 mineral specimens of crystals and gemstones from around the world. The collection includes a permanent display of minerals from the original gift from the estate of Irenée du Pont, Sr. collection in 1964.
