Eligibility:

Faculty applicants should meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Potential for transformation in a field where gender is underrepresented
• Innovative vision for the inclusion of gender in research and the curriculum
• Attention to the diversity of experiences within gender

Procedures:

The following steps are required:

• Download and print out an Application Form from this site.
• Print a copy of your CV.
• Write a two-page research proposal.
• Create a budget explaining how you will use the award.
• Create a description of the cross-listed Women's Studies course that will result from your research award.
• Submit 2 hard copies of all the above application materials to Dr. Patricia Deleon (pdeleon@udel.edu) and submit 1 hard copy to Dr. Monika Shafi (mshafi@udel.edu).

Follow-up:

Award recipients will:

1. Create a report describing the results of their summer research as well as a course description and detailed syllabus.

2. Submit copies of these materials to Dr. Deleon and Dr. Shafi.

3. Develop a course on the summer research topic to be offered in subsequent semesters either as a Women's Studies course or a course cross-listed with Women's Studies. If cross-listed with the faculty member's home department, at least 10 seats or half the seats in the course, whichever is greater, should be reserved for Women's Studies students.

4. Award recipients will be asked to present their research at a future Women's Studies research symposium.
