current legacy system processes in PS

Issues: How will Transfers/Allocations be handled in PS?

Ben announced that a PS Consultant would load People Soft version 8.4 on June 4th. He also told us that the General Accounting Department would play a major role in the implementation of PS 8.4. The G/L Team will continue meeting every two weeks or more frequently if necessary. Their purpose will include, exploring issues and problems that Ben and the General Accounting Department may experience with implementation.

The G/L Team made a decision, to split into two groups. One group with Linda, Eileen, Cathy, and Ben as the leader, to write the documentation for set up steps and rules for interim and year-end closings. The other group with Amy, Karen and Dave as the leader, will create detail and summary trees for account, department, fund, programs, and assets & liabilities. Each group member will research the documentation from People Books 8.4 pertaining to the group topic, in preparation for a meeting in 2 weeks. The leaders of each group will be responsible to meet with their group when appropriate.
